about us

Nina is a force of nature, trained as a marine scientist she has dedicated her career to protecting nature across the globe. She’s a brilliant scientist, but her true power lies in her ability to bring people together through collaborations and capacity building. Nina was a competitive runner in high school and college, and her love of the sport, and the beautiful trails of the northwest, have kept her motivated for more than 20 years since. Nina is also a seasoned traveler, having visited and run in dozens of countries across Africa, Asia and Europe. She currently lives in Seattle, WA and in a tent while on roadtrips across the U.S. West.

Kari has been adventuring since she was young, paddling away from hippos in Kenya and skiing trails in Norway before she was five. She is a freshwater scientist for The Nature Conservancy, working to protect water supplies for people and nature. Her parents pushed her out the door when she was 7 to run as a way to burn off her excess energy, she later earned All-American honors in college and has found a continued love for running on the amazing trails of the Pacific Northwest. Kari has backpacked through Europe, biked for 3 months across Africa and summitted Mt Rainier, and she continues to seek out adventures, large and small, and spend as much time as possible in the outdoors. Her favorite trail run is the magical Enchantments just outside of Leavenworth, Washington and exploring the Alpine trails near Grindelwald, Switzerland.
